November 8, 2006- The Change
Well, we finally had the fucking mid term
elections yesterday, and all of those negative, bullshit campaign
ads are now off of the TV, to be replaced by equally as annoying
Christmas ads, and some are saying that it was a historic day in
American yesterday because of the changes that occurred. For the first
time in over a decade, the Democrats are now in control of the House of
Representatives, and they could not be happier. For hours now, they
have been all over the TV, saying how this is the dawning of a new day
and how things are going to change and so forth. they are loudly
trumpeting the fact that Nancy Pelosi is now going to be the Speaker of
the House, the first woman to hold that position, and that they are now
the ones in charge and the Administration better watch out. They are
saying that the people of America have spoken and that they are
demanding changes in their government, and that they hear that call and
will do whatever they have to in order to bring these changes on. These
Democrats ran on various platforms saying things like how they were
going to chart a new course for America in Iraq and how they will speed
up stem cell research and reform government and everything else. To
hear them tell it, America is about to change like it never has before,
and change for the better. They seem to have convinced enough Americans
of that fact to get them to vote them in so that they can take over the
House, and now that they have gotten in with such record numbers, they
are going to be looked on to produce exactly what they promised.
This election can be seen as a true cry for change by Americans, or ot
can be seen as a way that the average citizen is punishing the
Administration for its deeds and misdeeds thus far, but whatever
way you look at it, something is being said here because there is not
usually such a great turnover in these elctions and there has not been
a power shift in the House since 1994, when the Republicans did
very well in those midterm elections and assumed power. Now the
pendulum has swung the other way again as it eventualy would. In a few
weeks when the dust clears from this election, the Democrats are going
to have some very large promises to fulfill, and the question of
whether or not they are really up to the job is the one that shall be
asked on the TV talk shows or the next little while now because there
are more than a few skeptics that doubt the entire thing. Many feel
that all this talk was little more than politics, that the Democrats
knew that they could not deliver what they were promising, and that we
shall all see that now that they are in. However, if you look closely
at the entire thing, that is surely not the case, the Democrats know
exactly what they can deliver. so the entirte thing comes down to a
matter of semantics. The real question that should be asked today is
not whether or not the Democrats can deliver what they promised, but
just who they were really promising things to in the first place. The
American people think that it is them, but the reality is another story
altogether.
Take the war in Iraq for example. The Democrats campaigned
on the premise of bringing the troops home sooner rather than later and
changing the course in Iraq. Since they were all part of bringing this
war to us to begin with, they surely know that troop withdrawl is not
only unfeasable, but negative in other ways as well, and they will not
upset the applecart here. They know that things in Iraq have actually
been going very well for America and that nearly every objective has
been accomplished, despite how things look. They know that the stated
objectives for Iraq were just a bunch of hot air, and that the real
reasons for going there were altogether different, and all of those
reasons have been wildly successful. The war has become the largest
cash cow that anyone has ever seen, and a whole lot of people have
gotten way rich off of it. The problem has been that the majority of
those that have profited so are Republicans and their cronies and the
Democrats and theirs have been left out in the cold. The
businessmen that support the Democrats have not been silent on this one
and they want a piece of tha action too. The only way that they could
get it was for the Democrats to regain control of the House so that
they could bring in all of their pals. The problem is that this
directly contradicts what the Democrats were telling the American
people during campaign season, because if they were to try and
stop the war and bring the troops home, that would mean that their pals
could not make their money. This means that anyone that voted
Democratic yesterday because they truly believed that the war would end
sooner wasted their time and energy because the Democrats have a trick
up their sleeve. Sure, they'll be in control and have the Speaker's
position, but what they'll do is make some cosmetic appearances as to
what they promised and act like they are trying to end the war, but
they won't really be trying at all. What will happen is that after a
while, like around Summer 2007, they'll start saying shit about how
they are stymied on this one because it was already underway when they
came in, and that they cannot do anything about it right now. They'll
cry big tears to the American people and go and blame everything on the
Administration, saying that they started this shit and that it is very
hard to stop and bashing Bush again. In the meantime, what will happen
is that there will be a new crop of businesses getting the
lucrative government contracts and getting rich off of them, and
these dudes will all be large Democratic contributors and supporters
instead of Republicans. This charade can be played all the way
until January 20, 2009 when Bush leaves office. After that,
they'll have to figure something else out, but yesterday' s results
guaranteed that they'll be in tall clover until at least that day and
maybe well beyond. If this Administration has been able to stall and
bullshit the Americvan people so much over the last six years, the
Democrats will be able to handle it for just over two, after all, they
are all career politicians too, and career politicians know how to work
shit like this.
The same thing goes for every other issue that they talked
about. The Democrats said that they are so concerned about personal
privacy and the government's ability to spy, but thgere's no fucking
way that they'll dismantle any of the spy apparatus tha thas been put
in place these last six years because they like that shit. They'll
increase it, using the same lame ass excuses that the current
Administration has used, the interests of national security. They want
to spy on and control the American people every bit as much as the
Republicans do and lie to the people when they say otherwise. It
won't be any easier to get on airplanes or any of that, and it sure
won't be a situation where the avergage American can relax about being
spied on either, the government will be snooping in just as much, if
not more, with the Democrats in power. They won't do that much about
stem cell research either, because they don't think that it is too
cool, they feel that it gives scientists too much power and the
possible ability to creat humans in a lab, and they do not want anyone
in America being more powerful than they are, and until they find a way
to make sure that the scientists don't gain too much power and
prestige with this, they won't move ahead on it very much.
However, if any of them get a disease that can be helped with it,
they'll get the treatment while ordinary folks won't. The Democrats
also said that they'll crack down on illegal immigration and all
that, when they have no intention of doing any of that shit. The
businesses that support them rely on illegals that take sub
minimum wages to do their dirty work, and if illegal immigration is
really stopped, that cheap labor force is gone and Mr. Businessman
won't like that one iota. That is why so many Democrats supported
raising the minimum wage this campaign season, to make illegals more
popular than ever. the more that an American worker makes, the more
that Mr. Businessman wants to hire illegals, so what the Democrats
proposed on that actually will make the situation worse instead of
better. Pretty much everything that was promised to the American people
by the democrats goes down that same road, that the only changes that
shall be made are cosmetic, mainly ones that changed the way that the
money flowed and sent it to different people. No corruption shall
be erased, no war shall be stopped or changed, no strides in personal
privacy or medicine wil be made, no, everything is going to stay
pretty much the same with the Democrats in control of the House despite
all the campaign promises made these last few months. All that had to
be done was to fool the American people, and that was done by
bombarding them with those negative campaign ads for weeks at a time,
just burning their heads out so much that they would listen to anything
that was not negative shit like that was, and tailoring their speeches
to that. It seems to have worked very well as they got what they
wanted, which was House control, and now they can make their pals that
have been waiting ever so patiently rich like hell just like the
Republicans have.
The Republicans are acting like they are upset over this,
but they aren't, they know that something like this gives the
illusion that there really are two different political parties in
America, and not just two facets of the same one. In fact, it is
good for them too, as having the control change like this looks good,
and even though they have lost control of the House, the Republicans
have not lost out one bit, it's just that some of their pals will
be left out in the cold in favor of Democratic ones, and they don't
really give a fuck about that either because that is the risk that
these businesses take when they align themselves with one party or
another and they are all expendable in the end. Another business will
rise and take the place of one that is out now and that's they way that
it is supposed to be. Nobody really lost yesterday except the American
people, as they always do. The politicians pretend to be enemies and
foes, but they are really all in it together, the entire thing is a
giant scam. The so-called change that we saw yesterday is really no
change at all, just different people sitting in different chairs. The
Democrats have been in charge of the House and all of Congress before,
for many years in fact, and the policies that they adopted then are the
ones that have ultimately brought us to where we are nowadays. Sure,
many of them were different individuals, but the ones that are there
today courtesy of yesterday's elections are no different than these
Democrats of yesteryear, or of the Republicans of back then either.
Nothing ever changes when this happens except for those that are
connected, for the average citizen, it is the same old shit all the
time. However, if the politicians are adept at making the average
citizens feel that things are happening for them, they get ahead, if
they cannot, they lose out. This year, it was the Republicans that had
difficulty convincing the people of that, and the Democrats did very
well at it, so they won. However, nobody really lost anything
yesterday, none of the losers of the elections are going to go on
welfare (the dole) and sponge off of society, virtually all of
them have all sorts of job offers in the private sector awaiting
them because they have the necessary connections to make a
company one of the insiders that really do profit off of these
cosmetic changes that elections bring about. All that is going to come
out of yesterday is a lot of political hot air and bullshit and
wrangling just like we always see. The Democrats are not a new party
taking over, they are the same old fuckers that helped us get to right
where we are today, not a part of a solution at all. However, they'll
be on TV all week long telling us how different things are going to be
from now on and continuing to shovel the bullshit. This election
yesterday changed nothing in America, it just supported the status quo
and will only keep thing running just as they have been running for
years now. The only changes are a bunch of new faces that stand for the
same old shit, because they are all insiders that run this country for
themselves and their pals and no one else. By the time that the
American people wil lrealize this it wil be too late, and besides that,
there will be a whole new crop of political faces lying to them again
and promising change when they have zero intention of doing so
and the whole system will roll on and the insiders will get rich and
the average people will get fucked.
