As of late, the Conservatives are becoming increasingly dismayed with George W. For many reasons. Many of them are less than thrilled about the outsourcing of jobs to places like India, because it was their jobs that were outsourced. An awful lot of them are none to happy with the way that things went in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, because it looked very much like Bush did not give a shit about the black people of America, just like that Kanye West dude said. What really pissed them off on that one was the way that Bush went and essentially said that he accepted the blame for that debacle, when they felt that he was not responsible for it, and that was true in many senses. They saw their leader taking blame for shit he was not responsible for and kowtowing to his critics instead of telling them to go fuck themselves. The Conservatives are also none to happy about Bush doing shit like hosting Hollywood over at the White House, and Mrs. Bush pretending that she watches "Desperate Housewives", and when the White House hosted the likes of Ozzy and that porn star Mary Carey, they really went ballistic. They started to see Bush compromising with what they saw as the opposition and they saw no need for that. Then, even the issue that the Conservatives backed Bush most on, the war, started to go against them. Even that loyal base of his is not happy with the way that Bush is handling things in Iraq, mainly because many Conservative homes have had to bury sons and daughters killed in the war, and they are starting to see no reason for it. The longer that it goes on, the more upset they get, because even though these are Conservative people, they are not insane warmongers, and do not want to see America at war unless there is a valid reason for it. For a very long time, they thought that there was a valid reason for it, but they are starting to doubt that more and more, just like the rest of America is. They see their leader as a man that has no plan for the war, and is just interested in personal glory and making his friends money. They want the war won, like he promised, and he's not delivering on that. He's also not delivering on many other promises that he made his base too, especially when it comes to the Supreme Court. Many of his followers assumed that he would pack the court with anti-abortion judges every time, thus ensuring that abortion is made illegal in America. That has not happened, as his picks for the Court have pissed his base off no end, especially that last one, harriet Meiers, because she was not even a Judge to begin with. They want a Conservative on there and they want it now, and Bush is under the gun on that one.
Thus far, they see Bush as waffling on these and many other issues, placating his enemies while alienating them. So they are starting to get upset with him. They are saying that his base with them is steadily eroding, and he has to change that quick or else. They are turning on him in ever increasing numbers and will continue to do so unless they get their way. In the past, that has worked with other candidates, but whether or not it works for Bush remains to be seen. It does very much seem like he has started to not listen to what his base wants more and more. That seems to be a shocking development, because Bush has always been in lock step with the Conservatives for a very long time now. After all, they were the ones that gave the guy any kind of a career at all, they helped him get on those oil company boards, and buy the Texas Rangers baseball team and become Governor of texas and eventually President of the USA. Without them, he is probably unemployed somewhere, living off of the family fortune and being a disgrace to the Bush name. We all know that the Bush name is a hallowed one in American history, and they just would not let one of them be a no account, although Jeb's daughter is doing a pretty good job of that herself. But she is a girl, and thjat means that she is not real political material, that's the work for the men of the family, so she can be that way, and George W. could not. So, he had to become the darling of the Conservatives to get away from that, and he did, and now he looks like an ungrateful brat to many of them. They see him as someone that owes them one big time, and he's Not delivering as promised. Now, they do not know what to do, as they are sending their message to him loud and clear and he does not seem to be getting it. That has led to fracturing of that base, as there are those that continue to support Bush and there are others that have had about enough. Many see bush as a man that got where he is through a hard-nosed, no compromise attitude and that he is abandoning that now, and this is no time to do that. It is hard to argue with that, because he is indeed abandoning his previous attitude now, in favor of what his old man liked to call a "kinder, gentler" approach to things. It is also curious as to why he would do that now, because things are tougher for him politically than ever before. For the first time in his Presidency, he is facing real opposition, and not just from his opponents anymore. He would need the support of his loyal base now more than ever, and he seems to be kissing that one goodbye. Oh, he is making cosmetic moves towards mending fences, because he has to in order to secure his place in the history books as a man that was adored and supported by America. So, he cannot just totally ignore his base, but he seems far less concerned about what they want than he ever was before. Many wonder if God has told him to be that way, since God seems to talk to W. A lot and tell him what he wants done, but God has not said that He is behind this either. So that would mean that is George W that is behind this one himself, and that he has some kind of reason for doing this. The rational reason for this would be that after five years, the dude has finally woken up and he sees that he has been way too polarizing an influence on America and wants to cut that out and bring people together instead of tearing them apart, and he has seen that the only way to do that is to compromise more and not listen to just one base so much. However, he has always been that way, because the dude has not yet vetoed one single piece of legislation that Congress has sent him, and that is unheard of, every President does that sometime, simply because their political enemies try and get shit passed, but Bush has let them get it all passed and not done shit. Even when he has known that the bills are packed with pork and full of bullshit, he has still done nothing, and doing that is the greatest compromise that any President could ever do for his enemies so Bush has been fairer than anyone else in that regard. So then, why does he vex his base so these days?
He does so because he simply does not care all that much anymore, and that caring lessens day after day for one simple reason, and that reason is a particular date, January 20, 2009. For it is on that date when George W. Bush officially retires from politics and is no longer accountable to anyone, including his Conservative base. That means that he cares naught about anyone, Including them. Her has just put on a big old act for decades now, pretending to be one of them, when he is nothing of the sort. He had to put that act on or else get nowhere and he did for as long as he had to and he does not have to any longer. So, he can tell the Conservatives to go fuck off, not in those exact words however, because he still needs them to build his place in history, build his Presidential library and the like, but he is no longer their slaveboy, and he likes that fine. George W has chafed under the yoke that his base has put on him, but he knew that yoke was also the way to easy Street eventually. He pretends to be a devout Christian, all the while flouting the Christian ways in every way except the way that Clinton flouted them, and says he is a patriot, while shirking military duty in his youth and destroying American freedoms one by one. He is a total bullshitter, and the Conservatives never realized that until now. They are now seeing the real George W. Bush, a man that cares nothing about any issue except himself and his pals and making them all rich as hell. He knows that illegalizing abortion will cause immeasurable problems for America and cost many of his buddies in the medical supply business lots of money, so he does not want it illegalized, but he says otherwise to the Conservatives so they'd Support him. He's set now, so they are no longer so valuable to him and he can be more real now. The more than the Conservatives see the real George W, the more they don't like it one bit, but now they cannot do anything about it. The usual way they react to that shit is to go to the voting place and vote against whatever, but Bush won't be running anymore, so they cannot kick him out. Yes, there will be proteges of his running in the elections in both 2006 and 2008, but Bush does not really care about them, they can fend for themselves. Every president that has been elected to two terms gets this way, because they are done, and no longer care about any political shit that much. Clinton left Al Gore high and dry in 2000 and Bush will do the sam eto any possible successor. Cheney won;t run in 2008, so some other poor fucker will have to bear the brunt of this and not Bush. No one, not the American Government, not his handlers, not Mr. Businessman, not even his old man and old lady can do anything about it, and he knows that too, and is starting to act the part. He knows that the Conservatives will never get so pissed off at him that they'll leave him entirely, because that would make them look like deserters, and make political hay for the Democrats, and they do not want that, so they'll stick with W. To some extent always. About all that they can do is grumble about him, and that's what they are doing. He is on his way to a guaranteed retirement on the Conservatives and everyone else's dollar and is answerable to no one, except his pal God of course. The Conservatives are starting to find out that they have been hoodwinked by this huckster all these years and many are starting to see him for what he really is. However, there is zero that they can do about that now and they are just beginning to see that. So, we can expect to see Bush's Conservative base continue to erode from now until January 20, 2009 and where that base will ultimately go is anyone's guess. Whether they will be so quick to be fooled again or not is a question that begs to be asked, and many Conservatives are pondering that right now. The only real base that Bush ever needed were the people that were in on all of this from the beginning, who set it all up, and who will also ride off into the sunset with Bush come 2009 or so and laugh At the scam they pulled off. They were the only ones that he really needed, everyone else was just to be bullshitted and led down a path, and that has worked to perfection. The poor fuckers that will have to pay for this in 2006 and 2008 will just have to find their own scams to work on America, because if george W could do it, they sure as hell can. That's the precedent that W is setting here, a legacy of lies and deceit and working a loyal base like they are a bunch of suckers waiting to be fleeced. The best thing those suckers can do is to ensure that it does not happen again and that another George W. does not lie to them and promise them things that he has no intention of delivering, but that will be hard to do, to buck the immense political/social machine that created George W. to begin with, and the eroding of that base they provide is merely step one of that process and they have to stick with that every bit as much as they have always stuck with their candidates in the past to reform that permanently.
