Mr. Businessman has every right to react to all of this and react strongly, because as I have previously stated, it was his actions that were instrumental in bringing on this current state of affairs. The way in which he conducts his business is the mitigating factor here. One of the reasons that the people in the Muslim world are so pissed off at America is because of the way that Mr. Businessman has treated them in his quest for ever bigger profits for himself. It's pretty easy to stir the people up against America when they see the corporations from there come into their society and basically rend it asunder just to suit their purposes. These are the lands where the corporations have set up shop and built their factories and used the local people for labor, and paid them a pittance because there are no laws stating that they cannot do that like there are in the USA. These factories made virtual indentured servants out of the people by paying them so little and working them so hard. No eight hour workday here, many work twice that much regularly. The factories release loads of pollutants into the air and water from their wastes and byproducts. The environment becomes destroyed as a result. People's health worsens instead of getting better from being employed by these firms. The revenues generated by the work in these factories never goes anywhere near the people, what doesn't go into the coffers of the corporate heads goes into the coffers of the local Pigs and governments, enabling them to further whatever cause it is that they are are on. In so many of these countries, that agenda is one that persecutes the masses and commits acts of brutality regularly. None of this is what Mr. Businessman promised the people when he came there and said that the was going to set up shop there. He made promises to the people of greater wealth and health and of improving not only their lot in life, but that of their entire society as well. Obviously, the people of these poor countries with these hard lives went for this shit big-time. They enthusiastically invited Mr. Businessman in and did what he wanted them to in great anticipation of the rewards that he promised them. They were told that they'd have to be patient, for these things take time. While they were, Mr. Businessman used that time not to lay the groundwork to make things better, but to consolidate his power in various ways so that he never had to make good on what he said. When the people eventually caught on and said, "what the fuck, where's all this shit that you promised, we have been patient like you said", Mr. Businessman said "April Fools!". The people realized that they'd been tricked by these fuckers, but now it was too late to do anything about it. This scenario played out over and over again throughout the world by American businessmen sowed severe hatred for all things American, especially business, all around the planet. It never mattered to Mr. American Businessman because he was comfortably ensconsed in his digs over in the USA, with oceans putting lots of distance between him and those that he was exploiting. So he kept on doing this shit time and time again. This is why the Muslims came to hate him so just like so many others around the world. Nowadays the world is a changed place. It has been conquered by man in every nook and cranny. He has united these conquests of his and made it a truly global village. Transportation has advanced to the point where anyone can get anywhere on the planet provided that you have the necessary money to do it. Now the people from the other side of the planet that Mr. American Businessman pissed off so can come right into his backyard with their grievances. They can now go right up to him and tell him exactly what they think of him and what he does and how he does it. We saw just that last September 11th. It was no coincidence that the terrorists made Mr. Businessman's scene the focal point of their attack. It was what he did that pissed them off so much every bit as much as anything that the American government ever did
So how has Mr. Businessman reacted to this provocation? The same way that he reacts to anything, he has gone and used it for his own advantages ( read profit). We have seen him shamelessly use this incident to generate money for himself. Every night on some TV network somewhere there is some sort of chronicle of what happened, all of them surrounding businessmen and women and what it did to them. Heartrending story after heartrending story is told featuring a young pregnant widow or a stunned widower, or perhaps the innocent children that no longer have one or both of their parents. These stories are all told replete with footage from that day, and also with the requisite advertisements from the sponsors. The tragic tales of the orphaned children are always told courtesy of some fuckin' corporation or another that sponsors the whole thing by buying ad time on it. The weeping widow is always interrupted in the midst of her story by a break so the corporations can sell you juice or cars or some other shit. None of these programs has yet to focus on the plight of the families of the illegal immigrants that cleaned the toilets in the Trade Centers. Never mind the fact that the loss of a breadwinners in those families is far more devastating than it is for the families of the corporate people because the illegal immigrants have no recourse, nowhere to turn to. Telling their stories would upset the American people by being seen as something that was being sympathetic to illegals and therefor promoting them in far too many American's eyes, and that would not be good for Mr. Businessman, for they would be upset and therefore not purchase whatever products that he was trying to sell to them. So you don't tell their story, you stick to the businessman's ones so that the sponsors can make money. There has also been the repulsive idea floated about making a comedy show about the tragedy, where a new widow and widower meet each other and a new Brady Bunch ensues. Yes, Mr. Businessman has been real busy doing what he can in order to profit handsomely off of this tragedy. That is, in some cases.
There are some businesses that have been hit really hard by what happened. It has hurt their profit margin immensely. So to try and rectify that, they have turned to a couple old standards in the business world, they are asking for handouts and they are also blaming the workers for the current state of affairs. They are also using it to try and cover for their own mistakes and mismanagements. The airline industry is the best example of this. They have been hit real hard by all of this. You have United Airlines saying that they are going to possibly go bankrupt because of what happened and that they need the government to bail them out because of it. The corporate biggies at United aren't saying too much about how they were having financial problems before September 11th. Much of that was due to growing public dissatisfaction with the airline industry because they were fuckin' sick of being treated like shit by these corporations all the time. It is said that customer service has gone extinct in America today, and nowhere was that more evident than in the airline industry. People were tired of that shit, and they were letting the bosses know that by hitting them where it hurts the most for them, in their profits. There was another problem too. United was having problems with their employees labor union long before September 11th. They wanted to stop and scale back the gains that employees had gained through the union. This is a trend that is growing through the American business world. Many employers feel that there have been too many concessions made by them to the employees, and they say that is hurting profits, which it surely is, for monies that previously went to Mr. Businessman now to various services and such for the employees. The Bosses long for a return to the "good old days" where employees were considered fortunate to even have a fuckin' job in the first place, let alone be looking for anything other than that. Employees have other ideas. They are all for their unions and what they get from them, and have no intention of giving anything up. This is as true at United Airlines as any other big business. So the two sides had locked horns and butted heads over this for a while now. The other airlines had similar problems too. This ate into profits through decreased employee morale, which was leading to the things that were pissing the public off so much. This was a major problem before September 11th. Now, the airlines are screaming about possibly going bankrupt and everyone losing everything, so now the employees union better reconsider. What an amazing turn of events. Suddenly, this tragedy is something that can wreck everything for everyone, just like that. The employees seem more pissed off about this than ever and that is only going to decrease morale further and make problems even worse, and destroy Mr. Businessman's profits even more. So the union has to give in big time or else.
There is one way out of this situation though, says Big Business. That is by the government bailing them out financially, no questions asked, no strings attached. If is this done, they say, then things can maybe be OK, but who knows. The airlines are just heading up the line for this scene. The hospitality industry ( restaurants, hotels, tourist shit), are right behind them. Thy are claiming the same shit as the airlines are. Many of these industries had financial problems before September 11th, too. Lots of them could be traced to the same things as the airline industry, poor customer service and labor difficulties. There were also things like embezzlement, theft, fraud, and other criminal things that plagued these industries. Now they want to be bailed out of everything too, same as the airlines. They are also claiming possible bankruptcy as well. All these various businesses are putting pressure on the government and using threats and shit as leverage. All these businesses know that they have a friend in the White House in one G.W. Bush. They seem to want him to play the role of the Pope or something and absolve them of al their sins and mistakes, and make them even again. This all seems so much like a blatant ploy by Mr. Businessman to exploit this current situation just like he exploits everything else in life, to make himself money. On one hand, he cannot stop crying over what happened for the loss of life and all, and on the other hand, he's trying to rake in the cash using this as much as anything else.
These are the ways in which Mr. Businessman has reacted to the current state of affairs. Seeing as how he is someone that was instrumental in bringing all of this to us in the first place , it's not too surprising that he reacted this way. This just shows that this current state was brought on not by some sort of political or holy shit, but solely by the way that man treats his fellow man, and what his values are and how he goes about fulfilling them. If Mr. American Businessman hadn't been such a fuckin' asshole to everyone by exploiting them for his own means, the hatred against him wouldn't be so intense from so many, and this sorry state of affairs might not have ever happened. Judging by his reaction to it all, Mr. Businessman has no intention of changing the way that he goes about anything, and that does not portend well for any of us.
