The first thing to remember about all of this is that the events of last September 11th were precisely that, the events of a single day in the life of a country that has been around for over 225 years now. The shit hat is being bandied about all over America is totally ignoring that fact. The politicians are seeing this and are jumping on it as fast as they fuckin' can. Everywhere you look, you see various agents of the government intoning that this "war" that we are currently in cannot possibly be "won" without the Pigs getting all sorts of increased powers. If this does not happen we are told, then everything shall be lost and the evil ones shall win. The "hero" status of the Pigs in America right now is being used big time to promote this shit. The Pigs have been a part of the American fabric for many, many years now. They have been yelling that they need increased powers for that entire time. For the last generation or so, they have been using the issue of drugs as an excuse to get these new powers. For years on end, they told us that this "scourge" could only be stopped by them having increased powers of all types. From increased wiretapping powers to greater abilities to spy and search and seize, the Pigs were always after something. They got a lot of what they asked for, and that didn't seem to help any. Whatever they got, they always said that they needed more They were given more too, and it still didn't help any. What transpired was ,that many innocent people started to get caught up in the bullshit of the extra Pig powers. Rights got trampled on, and freedoms were ignored in favor of what the Pigs wanted. Many lawmakers saw this and decided to do something about it. They scaled back some of these Pig powers and didn't allow others to go through. This stopped some of the Pig shit, but not all of it. For a time in society, not giving the Pigs what they wanted was the thing to do. The rights of the citizens were held above the ones of the Pigs and many were happy. Oh, the fact that the Pigs were a powerful force in American society was never far away, but there were those that felt that they had enough sway in society as it was, and they didn't need all the other shit that they said they did. This movement was gaining momentum in recent years, that is, until September 11th. Now everything has changed on that front. Whatever the Pigs want, everyone says that they should get. Things that were deemed unacceptable just a short time ago are now being called necessary because of the "new world" that we are in. Last year for example, there was that methamphetamine bill that was being bandied about that had provisions for the Pigs to conduct warrantless searches of homes and have increased wiretapping powers and all that shit. Civil libertarians were up in arms over that and they galvanized the public enough to where that shit was taken out of the bill. Now, we have all this anti-terrorism law shit being proposed that has exactly the same type of language in it that proposes the same type of Police tactics, this time in the name of countering terrorism instead of drugs. Sure looks like the Pigs are being big-time opportunists about the current state of affairs and asking for exactly the same shit that they did before, this time for different reasons.
Why is this bad? Because the real reasoning behind it is not what they say that it is. It is never truly the pursuit of crime that they are after when they ask for this shit. It is instead the pursuit of power. I have spoken many times before in my columns about the Police State. Every police agency wants to have that no matter where you are in the world. Whether it's a Third World backwater country or the USA, the Pigs all want the same thing, for the police scene is the same everywhere. It's a power trip, one that is only fueled by increased powers over the populace. The only difference between societies is how that trip is handled. If it is controlled in any way or just left to go on its own is what it really comes down to. In America, there have always been things in place that were supposed to make sure that the power trip was controlled so it didn't get out of hand. Now, all bets are off on that. The American Pigs are using this situation to their advantage just as much as Mr. Businessman is. They are trying to use this to make their power grab by playing on the fears and uncertainties of the American people. If these increased powers would not help in the other wars that we have had, why are things different now? The crimes that the Pigs are going after now are not that much fundamentally different from the ones that they have gone after in the past. Crime is crime, it is only made that by definition as it is. There is scant mention being made of the fact that any increased Pig powers shall be permanent in nature, lasting long after any current crisis will, for this shall pass as the others have in the past even though the American people don't see that now. When that happens, you will be left with a fixed problem, and the Police State tactics that "accomplished" that still in place, all revved up with nowhere to go. They will have to do something with al that power, and the only thing that they will be able to do with it is to focus it against the people in some way. Then it shall become a monster that has turned against the people, for it shall eat them up in its endless lust for continued increased power. This is the inevitable consequence of giving the Pigs everything that they want, no matter what the current situation may be. There is nothing heroic in using this current state of affairs to go and make this power trip a reality, a reality that will only destroy the lives of innocents in the long run. A Police State is a bad trip, much worse that what is going on right now. Nothing is worse than that trip. Anyone that is saying that at this time is being decried by practically everyone in the country. This can only fuel the Police State even further. Squelching any and all dissenting or different voices now is another thing that is not very heroic. The constant hysteria about the Pigs as heroes is just fueling this conflagration further. If they are truly heroic, then they shall not use all of this to increase their power trip.
Part of the reason that you have to be on guard about this is because the way that the Pigs deal with their issues. Whenever a Pig does something wrong, it is investigated by a Pig board, instead of an impartial civilian or judicial one. This ensures cover-ups for the Pigs are more concerned with PR than justice. They will hush shit up and sweep it under the rug 99% of the time. This lets bad Pigs go on and get worse. Many times when they do something, it doesn't even get to their Internal Investigative shit in the first place, it is covered up and handled very discreetly. Only in the most egregious cases does it get into the public eye. By the time a Pig gets way the fuck carried away with his shit like that fucker Hanhardt did here in my neighborhood, the damage is immense. By that time, the Pig has obviously done a lot of shit that he shouldn't have, and gotten away with it time and time again. He gets the idea that whatever he does, he can get away with, simply by the fact that he's a Pig. His schemes get bigger and grander until they finally explode like Hanhardt's did, and all sorts of shit hits the fan There's no way that a Pig can get way up there and do these crimes without complicity from his fellow Piggies. If someone felt that there was a problem, many times they stayed silent because they were afraid of losing their career and having political problems or whatever. The fact that they knew that the Pigs were going to handle everything themselves instead of any outside people made it even harder. When a high-ranking Pig like Hanhardt is doing shit like he was, it becomes kind of obvious that the same people that would be called on to investigate him are his pals and those that he helped get started as Pigs and all that. How they are going to stop this is very unclear at best. Pigs have been known to take full advantage of this for many years now. If you give then these increased powers that they are clamoring for now, this problem shall only worsen. Take a look at what these Pigs like Hanhardt have gotten into as it is. If you give these fuckers even more powers, the next generation of the likes of hi will do shit that will make him look like a petty thief. There is nothing heroic about Hanhardt, to say the least. For many years, he had the reputation as being a real hard-nosed Pig that went after crime and got it a lot. He was effusively praised by many politicians and businessmen and citizens alike. All the while, he was showing that he was no better than those he arrested, and worse than most of them.
These are the issues that are being forgotten in this current time. The fact that some of the Pigs did cool shit on September 11th is another issue entirely. Those individuals should be commended for what they did, and many are. They should not be looked on as representative of every Pig though. There are many Hanhardts on the New York City Pig force, I am sure of that. They were nowhere near the Trade Centers last month. They were hiding behind their badge in some way or another as so many of them do. They are itching to ride the reputation of their brethren that didn't do that and were the heroes that everyone talks about. What is possible to have come out of this for all Pigs is just what they want. They want that increased everything so that they can get even grander in the schemes and shit. They have no compunction about riding the wave of support that a few of them got going last month. They will paint themselves as exactly the same as the heroic ones and they will use that reputation to do shit that is just as bad as what the terrorists did, just in a smaller way. This is why people must stand up and say that we have to be more judicious than ever about what we give the Pigs now. Any short-tern gain that may be gotten from all of this proposed shit will be negated by the long term damages of an increased Police State in America. The heroic actions of a few must not be used by many to bring things about that are only going to be deleterious to the people at large. If other situations were not suitable to bring this shit about, then this current one is not either. Heroes must not ne used by those that wish to hide behind them and commit persecutions against the people. Letting those types have their way is far worse than the scourge of terrorism that we face now, and much harder to stamp out. So we must realize that heroes cannot be a blanket term for many because of the actions of a few. Especially when the many wield so much power in American society. Heroes are glorious things, but they must be individually recognized and pointed out, so that they can be separated from those that only wish to use their heroics for furthering their own agendas.
