September 26, 2008-Gone Too Far
A couple of columns ago, I spoke of the
financial crisis that was befalling America, and I said that we were
just seeing the tip of the iceberg. I had no idea that we were about to
see the entire iceberg so quickly, or more accurately, ram into that
iceberg like the Titanic did in 1912. The crisis has evolved into a
full-blown catastrophe within a matter of days, and it does not look
like it is getting any better. Corporation after corporation are
falling apart at the seams, unable to handle the immense debts and bad
mortgages and shit that they have and threatening to wreck the entire
economy. Suddenly, the entire house of cards seems to be falling down
and may take all of America with it if something is not done and done
soon. Far from being another example of Mr. Businessman crying wolf,
this crisis is real and is every bit as bad as they say. It has become
very common knowledge now that the rules and regulations governing how
corporations and businesses are run during the Bush Administration have
been way to lax and caused a catastrophe of massive proportions to
ensue. Fingers of blame are being pointed every which way, at the
American people, that took on mortgages that they could not afford, to
the banks that loaned money to people like this, to the CEO's that
mismanaged the banks and other corporations so badly, but no matter
who's fault it is, and it is more than likely shared by all three
parties here, the end result has been that America is facing a
financial crisis that has not been seen since the days of the Great
Depression. There fuckers in theese corporations have run amok so badly
that they have fucked everything up to the hilt, and now Washington has
to do something about it immediately before the unthinkable happens. So
President Bush had his people come up with a plan, and that plan was to
bail out each and every one of these corporations that has been so
badly mismanaged, to the tune of 700 billion dollars of taxpayer's
money. This staggering sum is larger than most people can comprehend,
so the number crunchers worked it out as something like $2,300 and some
odd dollars for every person in the USA. That would mean the instant a
baby is born, Uncle sam would be there to present him or her with their
share of that massive bill. The wasted wino passed out underneath the
sidewalk is on the hook here for that amount as well, and that fucker
has never even seen that much money at once. This is how large the
bailout plan that Bush wants would be, and that number could soar even
higher as more and more of these corporations continue to fail and come
looking to Washington to be a part of that bailout. This has freaked
the American people out plenty, it has sent Wall Street into a panic,
and the average American is getting more nervous by the day, wondewring
if he is about to lose everything in a second due to this.
However, Bush says that this is the only way out of this massive hole,
that these people have to be bailed out because the industries that
they controlled are vital to the American economy. So this is looking
lik ei tis rth elast straw for Bush in the minds of the American
people, becasue they have had enough of his ass coming to them and
asking them for astronomical sums of money for some goddamned thing or
another and this one has topped them all, even topping the requests
that Bush made for war money back in the day. Bush has managed to make
himself the headline man in the homestretch of a hotly contested
Presidential race in which he is not running, so he had to do something
huge to have that happen and he has. Most of the American people think
that Bush has gone too far this time with what they are facing now as
he prepares to leave.
However, most people think that Bush has done a
shitty job all around ever since he was President, but that is not
true. He has done a shitty job for them because he never represented
them in any way at all, but instead represented the interests of Big
Business, the Corporations, and Mr. Businessman. George W. Bush was
bord and bred at the knees of these types to one day grow up and serve
every interest that they had, and if he did that, why he could be
President someday. Young George learned these lessons well, becasue he
used that philosophy to get everywhere in life, to get into the
corporate world when he was not really qualified, to get into the
Governor's mansion of Texas when he was not qualified, to get into the
White House when he was not qualified, George did it all by obeying
everything that his mentors said and making sure that everything that
he ever did favored them. He stated not one, but two wars so that his
benefactors could get onboard a gravy train that was blasing along at
speeds hitherthough unknown before Bush and he made these fuckers way
rich because of it. He used fear and panic to beat the American people
into a state of submission and by doing that,he enriched these people
even more. Everything that George W. Bush has ever done has been to
make these people that essentially raised him even more rich and
powerful than they already were. That was the only point of having
anything to do with that little fucking loser anyway, the dude was none
too bright because he never had to be, and responsibility was never a
part of his life either, so even though he came from a wealthy
background, the only job that a cat like that could get was to be a
politician that was in the pockets of the corporations, or else he
could end up locked up somewhere because he caused a horrific traffic
accident while driving drunk, and public outrage dictated that he had
to be punished, and that was not somethinjg that would look good for
the Bush family, so they groomed George W. to be a puppet politician
for these special interests. Ever since he first got into the White
House, George W. Bush has done exactly what he was raised to do.
Everything that he has done has been a boon to Mr. Businessman, even if
it looks like it was a complete disaster to the regular people. When
things were at their worst in Iraq, they were at their best for Mr.
Businessman, that is the way that the Bush Administration has done
things. Now that he is due to leave office soon and wil no longer be of
any use to these people that he was born to serve, he may have wanted
to hand them a present before he went, and this is it. The timing and
suddenness of it make that look like a possibility, all of these
businesses start failing just a few months before the end of the Bush
term and here comes George W. to the rescue, it makes it look like this
was planned out all along, and when you factor in that we have an
Administration that has shown that it is not at all above concocting
all sorts of shit in order to further its agenda, it really starts to
look suspicious. However, it is probably not all a pre-aranged plan,
but rather, a looser plan that was put into place as a sort of safety
net in case Mr. Businessman wrecked everything while he was running
wild. He knew that he could count on Bush to be there when he finallly
wrecked everything so he threw caution to the winds, knowing that when
he failed, Bush would be there, and we are seeing that plan start to be
enacted now as George W. Bush's last present to the people that got him
places where he never deserved to be.
The problem is that this last gift has been perceived as
going too far not just by the American people, but by the American
politicians. They are outraged at what Bush is doing here, althought
they know full well why he is, but they also know that this is so
blatant that Bush has indeed gone too far with his gifts to his people
this time. The politicians know that this does not matter to Bush,
because he is about to retire in a few months now and never have to
bother with much of anything again, but they are not allo following him
out the door come January 20th, and they know that the American people
are going to want to have someone to hold accountable for this shit,
and they are all afraid that it will be them. They have to get
re-elected to continue their careers, and they know that the American
people are mighty pissed off over this one and could very well take it
out on the local Senators and Representatives on Election Day, because
no one is erver going to be able to do anything about Bush over this no
matter how it all turns out, he has a free pass for life. The American
people may decide that they want all the politicians that were there
for that swept out the door, and they don't want to lose their jobs
just because Bush did his benefactors one last huge favor. So just
about every politician in Washington, regardless of party affiliations,
is backing away from Bush because of this, even the few die-hard
supporters that he had left are distancing themselves from him over all
this. So Bush is standing alone on this like never before, because it
seems that everyone thinks that he has gone too far this time with this
plan of his. We are probably going to hear from his own father about
this before too long, and it is certain that the old man cannot be too
pleased about any of this either. So everyone seems to think that Bush
has gone too far this time, that is, everyone except the people that he
intends on bailing out. We are not hearing anything from any of them or
from the business commuity at large saying that Bush is doing something
wrong, on the contrary, they are saying that they not only need that
much money, but they need it now before things get worse. They are not
lying either, because the fact that they had absolutely no incentive to
act with any scruples at all these last seven-plus years meant that
something like this was inevitable it was just a question of when.
Alltherse other politicians that are fretting and fuming over it all
really cannot do much of anythying either, because every single one of
them is tied into the same people and the same scene, just not to
the extent that Bush is, not many people ever are tied in to that
extent. That's why they feel that it has gone too far, because they are
the ones that are going to be left holding the bag as far as they are
concerned, they don't care about saddling the people with so much debt
and shit, they only care about themselves and their well-connected
jobs, and they do not want to lose them over something that Bush did.
After all, they would feel betrayed by him, even though the dude has
always been firmly a corporate man, his profession was politics, and
these last seven-plus years, many of these politicians have had to work
closely with Bush on this and that and they are pissed off that the
dude is leaving them with something like this as he leaves their
business and heads off into the sunset on the ranch. So they also feel
that he has gone too far this time, but will even their lofty opinions
mater on this subject in the end?
The answer to that is a resounding no. No mater how much
they think Bush has gone too far this time or how mad they are at him,
they know that he has them backed into a corner one last time and
just has to get whatever he wants ot else disaster results. They know
that they have to give Mr. Businessman all that money that is going to
infuriate so many Americans, but they have no choice. It is up to them
to try and make sure that they don't lose their jobs over this, and
most probably shall be successful at it, but they are going to hold a
major grudge against Bush for the rest of time. This act may very well
be the final nail in the coffin for the political life of the Bush
family, because their name is always going to be associated with this
final act, because it is what comes at the end that most people
remember about Presidents, and that means that Bush won't be remembered
as the dashing and brave warrior of God that he wants to be, but as a
man that was so deeply into the corporations agendas that he gave them
more money than he gave the American military in a time of war. When
you are this far into an Administration, just a few short months left,
and everything is about image, the way in which the history books and
assorted media wil remember you, something like this is a serious blow
to that image. However, Bush probably does not even care about that,
because he figures that it will only take a few years after he retires,
by the next Presidential election cycle even, and people will forget
about this all and remember him the way that his propaganda machine is
going to tell you to remember him. He has to get exactly what he wants
just like always, and if people think that he has gone too far this
time, so what, he will be retired soon and does not have the time to
top this one anymore. He had to thank the people that made it all
possible for him one last time, and he did that the only way he knew
how, by enriching them beyond all dreams, damn the costs to others. He
knows that even if everything collapses due to all of this, that it wil
only affect him minimally, if at all, and if the Senators and other
assorted politicians that are bitching at him over this don't have that
luxury, that is their problem. There never has been anything that
was too far fro George W. Bush, he has led a life that few others ever
will, he was raised to be above and beyond everything and everyone, and
that meant that he could never go too far. He is showing how well he
learned that lesson now by doing this bailout shit, he knows that there
are going to be a lot of people that are adversely affected by this
all, but does not care about that, not having to care is a luxury that
he got by living the life that he has. That is why he does not see this
all as going too far, he sees it as rewarding those that helped him in
life, even though those people don't really need much more rewarding
from him. That is the kind of guy that George W. Bush is, and the shame
of it all is that so much of America let themselves be duped by this
guy for two Presidential terms, the ramificatons of which will be felt
for most of the rest of this century. Yes, Bush has gone way too far
this time, but there is nothing that anyone can do about it now, except
learn lessons, and the very expensive lesson that America needs to
learn out of this is to not let any more people like George W. Bush
ascend to the Presidency, people that only care about the rich and
corporations and no one else, because eight years of that shit has come
fucking close to destroying America, and the people need to remember
what they have seen these eight years and make sure that it never gets
repeated again or someone else wil take things even farther than this.
