September 25, 2001- Fear And Hysteria

The title of this column represents the two worst things that can come out of this current state of affairs. That's because the reason that these new enemies of America are called "terrorists" is because sowing terror in the hearts and minds of their perceived enemies is the biggest part of their game. There was much terror struck upon American in that fateful morning of September 11th, but those vile images that are burned into the consciousness of everyone in America were only the beginning of a possible reign of terror that was to be unleashed upon America. The aftermath of that day and how it is handled in everyday American society is just as important for sowing terror as the acts of September 11th were.

In my last column, I wrote about how the terrorists are manipulating the American people as part of their evil scene. They planted the sees of fear and hysteria in the minds of Americans, and they are beginning to sprout all across the country. Everyone from the average citizen to the Federal government is getting in on the act. The Feds have ordered the grounding of all crop duster planes across America because they feel that they could be used for more terror attacks. The Feds say that biological or chemical agents could be spread from these planes. The fuckin' Piggies forget that crop duster planers spread biological and chemical agents all the time, that's their function. However, the agents that are spread through crop dusters are significantly different than the agents that the Pigs fear that the terrorists are wanting to use. I don't think that anyone knows if it would even be possible to spread the evil kind of agents from crop dusters as they are set up now anyway. All this shit comes from the Pigs finding information on crop duster planes when they busted some suspect dudes. If the terrorists hadn't looked into the possibility of doing that before, they will now, thanks once again to the United States Government teaching them what to do and how to do it. This all comes out of fear and hysteria, which are the result of some more successful manipulations by the terrorists on the American people. All this shit about airplane safety is another one of these aspects of this. Now they want to have Federal Marshals ride on planes undercover-style, like they did on the stagecoaches in the Old West. On top of that, there's a move afloat to let airline pilots and co-pilots carry guns on the plane and into the cockpit. This just turns airline travel into traveling in an armed encampment. Many people hate being on a plane because they don't like bring trapped in a metal tube up in the sky somewhere, at the mercy of the management, which is defined as the captain and his crew, as it is. Now those people are going to know that the dudes flying the plane are armed and ready for battle, and there's no way of knowing how much training these pilots are going to get in how to handle a gun as it is. Just because a dude flies a plane for a living doesn't mean that he's proficient with firearms, he may be totally opposed to them and have nothing to do with them. Is a pilot that feels this way now going to have to learn how to handle a gun just because of his job? I don't see how putting a gun in the hands of someone that doesn't like them and is only near them because his job requires it is going to make anyone any safer at all. If someone like that had to really try and use the gun in a situation, the odds would be overwhelming that he would make things worse instead of better, for the possibility of something going wrong is incredibly high in a situation like that. If that had been the case on September 11th, you would have had those hijackers having access to a gun and knowing how to use it mush better than an airline pilot, and then they would have been firmly in control. If this had been the case on that fourth hijacked plane, they would have hit whatever target that they intended to, not have crashed and burned because of what the passengers did. This sounds like just another thing that has been borne out of hysteria and fear, so score another one for the terrorists.

The most important thing that is at stake here is the erosion of civil liberties that could come out of the fear and hysteria in america right now. Later on today, Congress will consider the Anti-Terrorist Act Of 2001. In this act, there are several provision that could have a very chilling effect on civil liberties in American society. Things like increased wiretapping authorities for the Pigs, national ID cards, and increased Police powers are part and parcel of this bill. How much of any of this is really necessary to actually conduct this new war is uncertain. The problem is the climate of fear and hysteria that is prevalent in American society right now. Many of the American people are open to all sorts of shit that will be done in the name of the "terror war". A poll showed that 29% of those surveyed would allow the Pigs to have sweeping powers to just randomly stop and search people just because they wanted to. 49% answered that they'd be in favor of special ID Cards for Arabs. 33% said it was col for the Pigs to have increased powers to wiretap phones, computers, e-mail, whatever they felt that they had to do. 58% said that they would approve of special security checks of certain people ( read Arabs) before they could even get on a fuckin' plane as a passenger. There's no doubt that the politicians have seen all of this and are ready to act accordingly. Usually, when a bill is just starting out, you can count on it not being done in a very expedient fashion. There are always the stupid fuckin' political games that the politicians have to play that end up modifying the proposal to fit their little political whims and shit. So, it's usually a long time before a bill makes it into law from the time that it starts out. Most of the time, this is a very bad thing. The longer that a bill hangs around, the more politicians can get their fingers into it and start to manipulate and change it to fit their agendas. These agendas usually consist of monetary-oriented shit and how they can get as much of it as they can either for themselves or their buddies and those that they consider to be " on their side." This is how all that "pork barrel" shit that you hear politicians bemoaning gets into things. That's how it usually goes with political bills and acts and shit.

However, we all know that these are not ordinary times that we are currently in. This goes all the way to the politicians and how they do their business. This Anti Terrorist Act that they are debating today could very well get passed and finalized today as well. Normally that would be a fine example of government in action, cutting out the bullshit and getting on with the real business at hand. Not in this case, though. That's because the bullshit in this one is right there in the act as it is, and no debate or politicking or tinkering with it will be the wrong thing to do. When those fuckin' windbag politicians get up there and start making their speeches about this, it will no longer be a political gathering, but it will become a pep rally. Many of these politicians haven't had much of a chance to say anything since this all happened, because they have been overshadowed by the larger politicians and shit. Now they have their chance. There won't be a single motherfucker that will get up and say anything in their speech even remotely against any provision of this bill. The actual parts and language and provisions of the actual act will be totally forgotttenn as speaker after speaker gets up and goes into their own personal "God Bless America" speech to prove that they are 100% with America and are All American and all that bullshit. The usual debate about these provisions will be muted at best. No one will want to dare to be the one that interrupts the American pep rally with any questioning of the matter that's supposed to be at hand here. If this happens this way and that Anti terrorist Act gets passed without any real thoughts as to what it means to Americans civil liberties, it will be a fuckin' disaster.

When we hear all this shit about increased wiretapping laws to help combat the evil ones, how is the government always going to be so fuckin' sure of themselves that they have honed in on a real terrorist and not just an innocent person? If people really think that the Pigs are only going to use these new powers to go after terrorists, they are sadly mistaken. The have to realize that these laws mean that the Pigs have much greater latitude to wiretap them if they get some kind of cockamamie idea about what they are actually doing. More people will get busted for political crimes (like drug offenses) and whatever kind of new restrictions that are put upon the American people than terrorists by a long shot. Sure, there would almost certainly be a real high-profile case or two where these new laws helped the Pigs nab some real honest-to-goodness terrorists, but for every one of those, there would be thousands of cases where ordinary citizens were brought into the sightlines of the Pigs because they felt that they had some reason or another to look at them. This could be a boon to grudge-holders, for they could just tip the Pigs off about some nonsensical untrue bullshit regarding terrorism and a certain individual, and get that individual into lots of trouble with the Pigs. Current laws that make these wiretap things harder to do are there to stop just that sort of thing. The Salem Witch Trials were based on this sort of rumormongering and hearsay, and that was a chilling time in America. These laws could bring those " good old days" right back again.

Any sort of ID cards would be equally as disasterous. If you just issued them to Arabs or Muslims or whatever, you would be doing the same thing that Hitler did in the Third Reich by forcing Jews to have ceratin IDs and wear shit on their clothes and all that. The Taliban themselves, the evil ones that are supposedly out to destroy the entire American way of life do this by forcing non-Muslims to have ceratin IDs and shit. Doing something like this just stigmatizes the people and makes them targets of the Pigs, the people, whoever. It would be pretty easy to identify these people by these cards and do shit like attack them with vigilante-style lynch mobs and shit. This would do nothing but escalate the problem of violence in America and make things worse. The Pigs could easily target these people and do whatever they wished with them, as Pigs are wont to do as they hide behind their powers. This just promotes Police State tactics, and also does no good. Issuing IDs to everyone in America is no good either, for that opens up a whole host of new problems, such as identity theft. Another type of ID just means another way for forgers to make a buck selling fake IDs to people. It is true that America basically has a National ID card now in the Social Security Card, but not everyone has those. People that have never worked at a legitimate job ( or any job, perhaps), don't have them, for they have no need for them. A national ID Card just makes it easier for the Pigs to track you and your life, and that will do no one any good, for hardly any terrorists will be caught that way. This card shit also fits in with the increased personal search powers that the Pigs want out of this. If you give them the power to search you for no reason, asking if you have your National ID card would be the best way to start to do that. Many Americans say that's no problem, the Pigs can search them all they want, for they have nothing to hide, and if it means carrying a National ID card, that's cool too. That's what they say now. I think that they'd sing a different song the first time a Pig approached them and demanded to search them for their ID, and was a total jag-off when they didn't move fast enough or dared to ask him why. If they had a fuckin' Pig go apeshit on them and search their person and arrest them just because he felt that he had to when they "resisted" him, then these people would see what this shit has really wrought. That is what will happen if this shit gets passed without any discussion at all, not the disabling of terrorism. If fear and hysteria rule America and its people and its politicians, the only thing that will be disabled is American society, for these draconian measures that are being proposed in the name on anti-terrorism are in reality anti human, and they will surely destroy America by destroying its people. The American people need to realize that and make sure that the politicians keep that in mind as they fight this new war.
