Untrue Assessment
Everywhere that you look these days, it
seems as if if the Administration isgetting more bad news on Iraq.
First we had those Mariens that were charged with massacring people,
and then we saw the numbers and frequencies of sucide and car bombs and
the like increase dramatically, taking even more lives, and then we saw
the poll numbers take a stiff dive, with President Bush's approval
ratings on the war way down in the shithouse, and last week there was
more seemingly bad news. This news came from the Pentagon themselves,
as it was part of the reports on the war's progress that they have to
present to Congress every so often so that the image is crafted of
concerned politicians overseeing what the Pentagon is doing so it
looks as if this is not just money being thrown away in the wind, and
when you think of these reports, you would assume that all that they
would be is the Pentagon spouting its own political propaganda and
patting itself on the back and saying what a great job they were doing,
but last week, that was not the case. The Pentagon's own people
actually went before these Congressmen and painted a very bleak
assessment of the conditions in Iraq. They essentially said that Iraq
was out of control and sliding into a Civil War, one that is pitting
Sh'ia Muslims agaunst Sunni Muslims, with roving death squads all over
the nation, assassinating and terrorizing at will. The Pentagon said
that the White House is not adequately dealing with the situation in
Iraq and was actually making the whole thing worse by their actions.
They said that the White House seemed to be "out of touch" with the
situation in Iraq and in danger of losing all control that they have
left over there. Needless to say, the shit hit the fan at high speed
when that came out, especially the part about the White House being out
of touch. Those poll numbers of Bush's fell even further intoi the
shitter, and his political oponents saw a chance to make political hay
and went right at it. The cries for America to end its involvement in
Iraq now and bring the troops home have intensified, as those that
support this cause say that when even the Pentagon calls its own bosses
out of touch, it shows that things are way out of control and that
nothing more can possibly be gained from this. Indeed, it looks pretty
bad for the dudes that are put in charge of running the war to say
something like that about their bosses, but they did just that last
week, saying that they were just giving an honest assessment of the
situation. Even the spin that the Administration gave to this, where
they took the head General in Iraq and had him say that this was
not so, that he saw a way that America could indeed complete its
objectives in Iraq made any difference, when this story was coupled
with the other stories pouring out of Iraq last week about bombings and
killings and all that shit, people did see an Administration out of
touch with reality in Iraq, one that adamantly refuses to change much
of anything, one that was headed for disaster. So that has greatly
intensified the calls for America's withdrawl from Iraq. once again
dividing America into factions and against one another, as yet another
debate breaks out and rages across America. Is the Administration
really as out of touch as their Pentagon boys said that they were, or
is it all really a bunch of Washingtonians playing politics with one
another in an election year, the Pentagon wanting things their way and
the White House another, so they do the only thing that anyone in
Washington knows how to do, posture and play politics with the issue.
It seems very hard to think that the Administration is not way
the fuck out of touch with things over there, because all they ever
seem to say is pep rally style talk, like the shit that Bush spewed in
the days aftere this report came out, or make these wild, sweeping
statements about all sorts of shit, they never seem to talk about the
situation in Iraq rationally. If they admit to failings, they always
pass the buck and make excuses and shit and eventually end up blaming
things on their enemy, the terrorists and their minions. Over and over
again, Bush has talked about free and democratic elections in Iraq and
how they were destined to change that society forever, and there have
been several rounds of elections and a duly elected government has been
in place in Iraq for a while now, and still it gets worse and worse
there. It seems surreal to hear the Admninistration talking about how
the Iraqi's lives are better now than ever before, and see those daily
images of extreme carnage on yout TV. All of that makes it look
as if this war is being run by a bunch of chickenhawks, folks that
never really served in the military or fought in any conflict other
than a fencing match, but now are in charge, and making others do the
fighting while they sit back and party. That is suposed to translate to
people that have zero experience making the decisions that affect so
many others, and lead to disaster, and many feel that is why America is
in the situation that it is with Iraq, and that the Pentagon are
heroes for finally standing up and saying something about it. Many have
chafed under seeing the White House and the Administration that are
manned by people that did not serve in the military at all telling long
time Generals what to do and how to do it. Lots of long time Pentagon
people sure do not appreciate it, and their voices have been heard loud
and clear by Washington, and that ball has been put squarely in the
Administration's court. So many things that Administration people have
said aboiut Iraq have been disproven that it look as if they were never
in touch with things to begin with, let alone now. Nothing that they
can say to the cameras can overcome the images of the death and
dstruction that pour in from Iraq every day, that just keeps making
them look farther and farther out of touch. The theory has been going
around for years that this is because the Administration has a
Messianic complex, that they think that they are Christ or something
and take their orders directly from God, President Bush has said things
like that every so often, and that sort of attitude would certainly
lead to becoming out of touch with the reality of Iraq, as would
the rumored utter refusal of Bush to hear anything negative in
his reports, that everything has to be way upbeat, so that would make
it sem that these reports had to be made up especially for him
and would never contain much truth of any kind, and if that
was the case, then he certainly would be far out of touch with things.
So there are many different reasons for why the Administration would be
so far out of touch with reality in Iraq that even their own employees
would say so, and that would explain everything that we have seen thus
far.
All that shit about Iraq falling tinto a Civil War are
indeed true, in fact, many feel that this war started a while ago.
There seems to be no question that almost everything that America has
tried in Iraq has failed miserably, that elected government that was
supposed to make so much difference has been very quiet lately, maybe
because they are in fear for their lives by thise roving death squads
that are everywhere, and it looks as if there is no central authority
in Iraq at all. That pentagon report even said that the insurgents and
other warriors are the only ones providing any services at all to the
citizens of Iraq, the only way that they can get food or water or
electiricty or anything. This has made the citizens look on them
as the representatives of them, not those fuckers hiding away somewhere
in Baghdad or the Americans, so they swear no loyalty to either one of
those, despite what Washington says about who runs Iraq. It has become
evident that no one runs Iraq, not Washington, not any Holy Men, not
any militians, that the country is essentially in a state of anarchy
and Civil strife. Every poll taken of the Iraqi people now shows that
they do not believe anything that America says any more and wish
that they had never come to begin with, and that all that they have
come to dol is to steal the oil anyway. The same folks that Geraldo
Rivera wanted to kiss for going out to vote in Iraq last year now
would like nothing more than to see America go back home and leave them
the fuck alone and let them get back to their lives. The problem is
that there are many that will stay there in Iraq and fight it out with
one another over who gets to run things, so America's leaving would not
put an end to the war at all .it might even make it worse, if that is
possible. So Bush is not that far out of touch when he says that
America needs to stay in Iraq and not leave now, because he knows that
the entire colossal mess there is his doing to begin with and that
splitting the scene now would not have any positive consequences at
all. America is forced to stay around for this Iraqi Civil War and even
to eventualy take sides, if for no other reason other than to protect
themselves. That is about as far from the freedom that Bush promised
the Iraqis as you can get, and that would make it look very much as if
an out of touch Administration had made a fucked up mess out of
everything, and that America needs to look at what the fuck they are
going to do now in the light of the new developments and situation in
Iraq. and that requires the Administration to come down off of that
Messiah complex that they may have and quit with the hysterical talk
and name calling and get their spoiled asses down to brass tacks and
deal with what they have done and try and get something crafted to get
some kind of a resolution here before it is too late. No
one with any concept of reality whatsoever can say that iraq has not
turned into a disaster and problem for America of the highest scale and
that the Administration has made it worse with their high handed
rhetoric, and that they need to quit that shit now and get to work, if
even your most trusted henchmen at the Pentagon are saying that, it has
to be a reality, or does it?
The Administration has not been very quick to defned
itself against these charges here, and even if they were way off on a
Messianic trip or something, they could not ignore the firestorm that
this has caused. If they were really doing that badly in Iraq, they
would have spin doctors and nurses and orderlies all over the place
spouting their side of the story andtrying to make themselves look good
again. However, all that they did was to trot out that General to say
shit that nobody believed and they left it at that. This does not seem
consistent with someone that would think that they had done a bad job
and needed damage control, no, it seems like something that one would
do if they had done a great job, and that was no accident. For far from
being out of touch like that report said, the Administration has
succeeded tremendously in everything that they set out to accompish in
Iraq. They were never serious about that democratic government shit,
they knew that was not plausible at all. they also knew that any
elected government would just sit around and do nothing until they were
assassinated, and that without any centeal authority at all, Iraq would
slide right to where it is now, Civil War. The Administration
wanted this Civil War all along because to begin with, it
continues the state of perpetual warfare that they thrive on, that
makes so much money for so many corporationsm and it also helpsp to
spread the climate of fear back in America that they need so,
perpetuate that image of "if we don't fight them there, then we'll have
to fight them in America" that scares the shit out of so many people.
that all will be enhanced these next two weeks with the endless
spectacles concerning September 11th, 2001, the constant airings of the
videos of the towers collapsing, the endless recollections of horror
from those involved in that day, and all the rest that will surround
it. That will make it easy for the Administration to make Americans
think that if they split Iraq now, these warring factions will chase
right after them to the streets of the USA and then no one will be safe
from their madness. That wil ensure that the endless war gets at least
another year of life, so they have that long to rake in more money and
to come up with a new story to perpetuate it then, and a Civil War in
Iraq will be perfect for that, it should last until January 20, 2009,
when Bush and Company are due to leave the White House. There is
another reason that America wants Civil War in Iraq, and that is so
that the Iraqis will go ahead and kill as many of each other as they
possibly can, because then America does not have to do it.
Washington knows that a Civil war there would make the American one
back in the 19th Century looklike a schoolboy snowball fight in terms
of carnage and death. Especially if they drag their feet real hard in
trying to put an end to it, the longer that it goes on, the more Iraqis
will be killed, and then America can ship in their own people to fill
the voids and populate the country with American friendly people.
Washington has its war machine set to strike in other places like Iran
soon, so the fighting in Iraq needs to be turned over to the Iraqis so
that Washington can take their troops and deploy them elsewhere.
So when you look at all of that, the Administration has done a
perfect job in Iraq, and not been out of touch with the real objectives
of it at all. they are just pretending to do otherwise, they told the
Pentagon to say what they said in that report so the people would
not know. So that was a very unfair assessment of things that was given
to the Congress last week, the Administration has succeeded fabulously
in Iraq and is accomplishing everything that they set out to do with
flying colors. All that you have to do is to see the real objectives
here as opposed to the stated ones and you see the true measure of
success here as defined by those that have been behind it all from the
start.
