August 31, 2006- Terrorist State

Things have seemingly been going from bad to worse for America over in Iraq these days. Every day there is another story about scores of people killed and maimed, yesterday was no exception here, as over sixty people were killed throughout Iraq in various attacks. With elections coming up in just a couple of months now, opponents of the Administration have been consistently hammering Washington on the way that they are handling the war and how badly it is going, and the main theme behind most of this is that many want the troops to return home and America to end its involvement in Iraq. More and more that is becoming a hot button issue as casualties mount and there seems to be no solution or end in sight in Iraq, although some say that there is, but that all seems to just be propaganda designed to keep opponents at bay. President Bush has been adamant and stoic in his support for the troops remaining in Iraq no matter how badly things have been going. Yesterday was no exception here either, as he once again was put in a position to have to defend his Iraq policy to a hostile press corps. He repeated his assertions that there is no way that America can leave Iraq now because the job is not finished yet and it need to be finished before troops can leave. He got into his tired old scare story abolut how America has to fight them "over there", meaning in the Middle East, so that we don't have to fight them here in America, aned a few of his other sound bite answers to everything, except that he did come up with a new one. He said that America could not leave Iraq right now because if they did, Iraq would become a "terrorist state", that was bent on fermenting Islamic revolution in any way possible and who would have the means to do so because they would have large sums of money at their disopsal because of the oil money that Iraq has, and that was where  he got into the shit about fighting  over there and such. However, a new term was coined, "terrorist state". In the past. Washington also warned about this sort of thing happening in Iraq if America was to waver in their mission, but they couched that in different terms, they spoke about the Holy Men taking over and making Iraq a theocratic state and so forth, they never  came right out and said that they felt that an out and out terrorist state would arise. as we  all know, Bush loves that word "terrorist" to death, he uses it more than any other word, and it always has these dire and deadly consequences behind it. We hear about how the terrorists are bent on destroying the American people and their way of life and how Bush is on a mission that God Himself told him to go on to stop this evil thing, so the word "terrorist" has more negative connotations to it than maybe any other word in the history of the English language right now, so a "terrorist state" sounds like evil incarnate right here on earth. But would such a thing realy result if America fails in its mission in Iraq or is this more of Bush's scare shit  for yet another time? Looking at the reality of the situation, much doubt comes to mind on this one.

To begin with, there is zero definition of what exactly a "terrorist state" is, as Bush did not elaborate yesterday. Do any of these states exist now, let's say like Iran or North Korea, or will this be a first for the world if it happens? The reality is that there is no such thing as a "terrorist  state" and there never will be, simply because such a thing flat out cannot exist. there has never been a country that does nothing except try to fuck with other societies because doing so signs your own death warrant, and not necessarily on the battlefield either. If Iraq because a state like that, they would be paraiahs across the world, even many other Muslim countries would shun them because they did not want to be associated with that.  Iraq is a country in ruins right now, as the war has devastated it mightily. If America was to just split, that would intensify like hell, and Iraq would be even worse off than they are now, and they are in fucking bad shape now. nobody copuld effectively govern the country, oil money or no oil money, because Iraq has been so badly fucked up by the war that there is no way that they can possibly fix everything by themselves, they are going to need outside help for that, and a lot of it too. If they focus on raining terror down on America, then they'll become the enemy of an awful lot of the world, especially the First World, who they would desperately need to get things back together again, and if they alienate and anger the rich countries of the world, they won' t get any help at all, and be unable to effectively rebuild. Even the most desperate terrorists would be unable to govern there and besides that, they would have more politcial enemies than  there are flies in Iraq, and those enemies would be after them right from the get go, so if everything is in shambles, then their enemies would have an easier time of taking over and it would become rather pointless to try and have this "terrorist state" because it would last maybe a fortnight. Add to that the difficulty that any terrorist state would have in keeping control over the Iraqi people, and there seems to be little sense in what Bush said yesterday. Anyone that would take over in Iraq after any American withdrawl would be utterly foolish to run after America and start terrorizing them, because if America did leave Iraq, that would be a monumental political victory for many, and they would want to make political hay and capitalize on it and becoming the main bad guy to the world is not going to make that happen any, so there is another reason that the wild eyed terrorists could not govern Iraq if they took over even if they had oil money. yes, they would br selling oil and such, but they would also be getting ripped off like hell on it because the situation that they woule be woule make them unable to demand just prices for their oil and they would have to take what they couold get, so the revenue that Bush says they would rak ein would not really be that much.

But there would be some new folks taking over in Iraq if America was to split but it would not be the terrorists that would do it, thiks would be the people that Washington warned everyone about, the Islamic Holy Men. Thgey would not be bent on running after America and sowing terror, as they would be very glad to see America leave because that is what they have wanted since the beginning, for America to go the fuck away and leave them alone. Then they woule be free to get that political capital that would be there for the taking and  go with that. yes, it is true that they would form a theocratic state, because as Holy men, that would be all that they knew, and  besides that, Iraq would probably need something like a theocracy to function should the Americans leave because a theocracy is a strong centralized government, and Iraq needs that right now, and always has, those forms of government are about  all that have ever worked in that part of the world for decades now. These seem to be the only kinds of governemnts that keep the terrorists at bay, afdter all, there was not such a terrorist problem in Iraq when Saddam was around. because he had such a iron fist on everything. America has found out that this sort of thing is necessary in the Middkle east  in oirder to keep the various terrorist factions  under control, it was the American invasion that lifted the lid on that in Iraq in 2003 and  what has led to the problems  that Iraq has now. So the Holy Men would have zero interest in exporting terror, quite the opposite, they would want to make nice with the rest of the world so that they can get a fair price on the oil sales and make money. Sure, their rule would mean the end of any elections in Iraq and back to the ways of decrees and such, but the Iraqis are used to that and when they compare that to what they have seen and experienced under American rule, it looks damn fine even if personal fredoms and liberties are curtailed. The Iraqis have seen a very, very high price be extracted for shit like elections and goverments and the like, and although many welcomed that change when it started, they now feel differently, they feel that far too high a price has been paid for shit like that, and they see the bill continually running up and up with no seeming end in sight, and they know what theocracy would mean, and even though they looked at theocracy poorly before, now it does not look so bad, mainly because people will live instead of being killed in a war, so they would be much more receptive to a Holy Man theocracy than you might think and probably prefer that to what they have right now at this point in time. So the Islamic Holy Men would have little problem taking over iraq if America were to leave and would probably be accepted by not only their own people, but most of the world as well.

The problem is that there is one big dog that would not accept a theocratic Iraq under any circumstances, and that is America. They will never accept a theocracy in Iraq because to them, that isd the same as the "terrorist state" that Bush spoke of. Even though the Holy Men will not orchestrate terror attacks against America, they would be none too keen to do business with them either, considering the history between the two. The Holy Men would do business with the rest of the First World, but not with America, and that would piss Washington off something awful. They know that America would
be shut out of a new Iraq, and that is tantamount to terrorism to Washington. If America is not right there in Iraq skimming monies off of the top of everything possible, that is deemed a failure, and Bush cannot deal with a failure like that, hell, his writeups in the history books depend on it. So since America considers anyone other than themselves that might govern Iraq a "terrorist", there is no way that they are about to stop fighting over there now. this is and always has been abolut business, big business, and that bottom line is all that matters here. Washington does not care who governs Iraq as long as they are US puppets, even Lemmy would be acceptable to them as long as he played along with them, and they just have to stay there to ensure that one of their people gets in at the end, Lemmy or otherwise. This is why they continually paint everyone that opposes them over Iraq way as a "terrorist" bent on America's doom, because that is what they are in their minds. never mind that these people might be something other than what Washington says, they have to be painted with the worst title going right now so that Americans continue to suport the  war effort. The entire situation in Iraq is so fucking confusing as it is that the avergae American lost track of it a long time ago so Bush knows that he can continue to trot out his trusty term "terrorist" again and again, the dude will probably be saying that until the day he dies, I would not be surprised if it is  his last word, and he does so because he knows that word scares, confuses, and divides the American people, and that is exactly what Bush needs to govern at all. So that term that he bandied about yesterday about a terrorist state is yet another creation  of his and Washington's fevered imaginations, as they imagine everyone in the world that is not with them to be their mortal enemies and they continually have  to paint that tired old stereotype jusat to keep their war scene  alive. The longer that this goes on, the more and more grandiose the shit that Bush says gets, and making some sweeping statement about a "terrorist state" just shows how far gone the guy actually is now. The truth is that America has to stay in Iraq until siome sort of resolution because  Mr. Businessman demands it, and Bush has to find ways to keep it all alive until that happens someday, and that statement that he made yesterday is just the latest attempt to do that and nothing else.  There is not a grain of truth or of reality contained within it, but by now we should all  expect that from this Administration, as they only know how to rule through fear and division  and they only have to push that until January 20,2009 which is not that far off anymore. the only state possible in Iraq that Washington would not consider a "terrorist state" is a puppet state of America and that is what Washington is after, they do not care if the Iraqi people are really free at all, they just care about getting that money that they promised to Mr. Businessman, who is starting to get impatient as he sees that deadline coming  closer as well.
