One of these delegations was over in Russia last week doing some more of that inspection shit. Even though it has been fourteen years since the USSR went under, there are still American delegations going over there to inspect Russian missile sites and the like to make sure that everything has been destroyed like it was supposed to be. Nowadays, these American delegations are not totally manned by these washington missile experts and scientists and the like, Mr. Politician tags along for the ride when he can. Even though these Senators and the like have zero idea of what to look for or what the agreement even is, they go over there at taxpayers expense and act all important, making themselves look like foreign affairs experts to the Americans, and big, high ranking, important politicians to the Russians. These Senators just parrot what the scientists and experts tell them, doing so in stentorial terms and blowing it out their asses. Last week, we had two Senators go over with a delegation, Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana, and Senator Barack Obama of Illinois. Senator Lugar has been in the senate for a while, so he might know something about this shit, but Senator Obama was just elected last year, and has only been a Senator for a matter of months. Nevertheless, he went along, even though he knows jackshit about nuclear weapons and these treaties signed fourteen years ago when he was a kid going to college (university). Of course, the Senators brought the TV cameras and the print media along to record their epic journey, which was little more than a vacation to Russia at taxpayer's expense. We had pictures of the Senators drinking vodka toasts with these Russian military guys and so forth. However, these inspections came at an awkward time for Russia, because they were conducting war games with China over in the Far East and Russia has been quietly rebuilding its military machine ever since that fish faced fucker Vladmir Putin was elected President there. Under his rule. Russia has gotten back a good portion of its military strength, and that means that it is not as weak of a beggar as it was back fourteen years ago and does not just have to sit back and take everything all the time anymore. Putin is sick of these inspections, especially since they are now used as propaganda tools by so many American politicians, and he wanted to let America know that. So, when the time came for the senators and party to leave Russia, they got stopped by the Russian military and told they did not have clearance. They went on about how they were not convinced that the plane that the senators were using was an American military plane, and that makes all the difference, because military planes are exempt from searches and shit as commercial planes are not. So, the Russian military and Pigs went and searched the military plane that the Senators came in, and detained the Senators and stripped them of their passports, the whole shot. That caused quite a furor, with the Senators doing shit like calling the White House and having people there try and explain to the Russians who these people were and shit, and the whole mess took like three hours to finally get straightened out, and the Senators and party were given their passports back and were allowed to go to Kiev, their next destination on the itinerary. However, three hours was more than enough time to search the plane pretty thoroughly and that pissed a lot of people in Washington off.
The diplomatic flap that came out of this was quickly extinguished, with the Russians apologizing, saying that it was all a mix-up, a misunderstanding, and Washington accepting the apology. The Senators have had nothing bad to say about it all, and the worst that has been said was from a dude that works for the Chicago Tribune and was along to cover the trip. He was not thrilled about it, and his story has a byline of "Isn't the Cold war Supposed to be over?" Well, It is supposed to be, but it is not, and Mr. Putin put America on notice of that with that little prank he pulled on the Senators. To say that the Russian dudes did not know that it was an official American delegation traveling in an official American military plane is sheer bullshit. They have been dealing with these things since 1991, and they should know the real thing when they see it by now. Even with the freshmen Senators and TV crews and newspaper reporters, they know an official delegation when they see it, and they knew full well that the one last week was as official as it gets. Even if the Russian military dude that was in charge of things there was so fucking wasted on vodka that he could not stand up, he had ways of verifying this, just call his superiors until he found one that was not so fucking wasted on vodka like he was, and that superior would tell him. The Russian system is well equipped to deal with wasted dudes in key positions, that's endemic over there, and was part of what led to the end of the USSR in 1991. So no matter how blasted the Russians might have been, they knew how to verify all of this. Even so, no matter how many of them are that wasted, there is at least one man in the hierarchy that is not fucked up like that, and that would be Vladmir Putin himself. Story goes that he used to be wasted like many Russians are, but that he essentially quit drinking to concentrate on his career, and aside from the ceremonial toasts and such, he does not hit the bottle like his predecessor, Boozing Boris Yeltsin, did. So if they had to go all the way to the very top to find someone that was not wasted, they could do it, especially on a matter of such importance as this. So, the official diplomatic explanation given for it all does not hold water worth a shit, so there has to be another explanation fo rit, and there is. What happened to the Senators and their party was no mix-up, no accident. It was intentional from start to finish. A plan like this could not be hatched by some blasted Russian military man, they do not have the power to pull anything like that off by themselves, and, besides, they would be unable to do it without official approval from the Kremlin itself or else they'd lose their job and go to jail and shit. Only the people at the very, very, very top of the pyramid could have the power and authority to plan and execute something like that, and that leads us straight to Mr. Putin. Only he could sign off on a plan like that and make it happen, only he would allow anyone to even think that shit, let alone do it, and he lets them think it for a reason, because that's how he thinks too. He wanted to embarrass the Senators and their party, knowing full well that the media was along, wanting to use them to tell the story, actually. That's why it all came down at the last possible minute, even after the goodbys toasts were slugged down and why it only lasted three hours, which was enough time to search the plane illegally. Searching the plane was not the issue here, they knew it had nothing illegal in it or anything they'd be interested in, that was just for spite. No, Putin had another reason for it all, he wanted to tell the American people something, and the Senator's delegation last week was the vehicle he chose to use to tell it to them.
What he wanted to say was that the Cold War is not over like the Tribune reporter thought, that it was just at an intermission, and now intermission is over, and it's back on again. He was saying that he's had enough of the American inspections and is not about to be cool about them anymore. He was saying that he is rebuilding his military, and that it is none of America's fucking business if he does, and that if they say otherwise, they'll
be sorry. Those war games that he [played with China earlier were not just benign exercises, they were rehearsals for a real war, and that war would be with the USA. That was obvious from the way these exercises were played out, and neither China or Russia denied that fact either. Putin is trying to forge a new alliance that he can use to counter America, and he is having success in doing so. He's trying to hook up with China and India, and Iran too, and all that makes Washington nervous. Perhaps that's why they decided that the time was nigh to make another inspection trip to Russia, and Mr. Putin was none to pleased with that. For if he is going to rebuild Russia's military, atomic weaponry is an integral part of that, it was the first time, and will be now. For fourteen years, Russia has had to cool it with that, while America has gone right on not only building these things, but using them too. Putin sees how Washington is using these things in the War On Terror or whatever the fuck it's called now, and he worries that they might be used on him too at some juncture. The main reason that the Cold War never got to be a Hot War, with America attacking the USSR was simply because the USSR had all kinds of nuclear weapons too and could destroy America every bit as much as America could destroy them. Putin knows that better than anyone, being an old KGB dude and he knows that if he wants Russia to stop being a beggar and slave to America, that they need them again. However, he will have a hard time building them if the likes of Senator Obama and friends keep coming over there to inspect shit, so he has to change that climate, and he started last week. This was all disguised as a minor diplomatic snafu, but the next time it might not be so minor. Putin views the USA as a threat to him, as does a lot of the world these days, and he plans on doing something about it. He has all the parts of the old USSR superpower around, all he has to do is to put them back in place, and he's back in business again. That's exactly what the dude wants to do, and has wanted to do ever since he took over from Yeltsin. It has taken him a few years to stabilize things over in Russia to the point where he feels comfortable doing that, and he seems to feel that he's coming close to that point. The debacle last week was the first indication of that. Washington knows that too, and is at a quandry as to what to do about it. To re-start the Cold War up again is just not possible now, as America has more than enough war on its hands as it is, and cannot handle anymore. This is exactly what Putin is taking advantage of and will continue to take advantage of. Russia will be less and less friendly with every ensuing American inspection delegation until they eventually stop them altogether. I am not sure how often America is sending delegations over there these days, but it is not at a great frequency, so this process will take a few years, all the time Russia needs to rebuild everything the way they want it and it will also extend past the summer of 2008, when the Olympics in Beijing will be over. That means that China can get in on the game then, and Putin or whoever is President of Russia then can get serious about this shit. That is not that far away anymore either, just three years, and that's why Putin chose now as the time to send his first message to America that the Cold War is back on. As the next three years go on, he'll get bolder and brasher with it, and America has put itself in a position where they can do zero about it. Everyone knows that Putin fucking hates America, that was a requirement for employment in the KGB when he was there, and he will act on that in a slow and steady manner. So, the Cold War is back from intermission and ready for Period Two. Putin has been itching for this moment for years now, and he is finally starting to get his way. Senator Obama and friends were just the scapegoats to tell the world that this was so and that America had better watch out and get ready for the Cold War Part Two. As if America does not have enough to worry about, now this ominous shit, but Putin cares nothing about that, he sees it as a time where America is vulnerable and Is taking advantage of that. So, that Tribune reporter was wrong and he'd better get used to that idea, because he may very well be reporting on the new Cold War for years to come.
