In America, these effects are becoming greater all the time. You have shit like the Asian Longhorn Beetle showing up in cities all across America, making homes on the trees. This is what they do over in the jungles and forests of Asia where they come from. Over there they eat the insides of trees out until they die. They have continued this tradition in America, feasting on certain trees all around the country and causing immeasurable damage. Since their natural enemies (the other animals that eat them) are not present in the USA, these fuckin' beetles have been going unchecked and devastated entire cities worth Of trees in some places. Another alarming problem in America is the snakehead fish or whatever it's called. This is some lungfish native to Asia that swims in the waters there and eats a lot of things until it in turn gets eaten by something . This is an amazingly adaptive fish. Since it comes from a place where life is hard on a fish, it has adjusted accordingly. This fucker has a primitive lung, so that it can breathe air if it has to be out of water, if the water dries up or something, this fish can crawl about on its fins (or lobes) and breathe air until it finds more water. It can adapt to a great range of temperatures, since it can swim a great distance looking to hang out and feed and shit. It has had to do this in Asia just to be able to survive. But some dumbfuck brought some of these things over to America, and turned them loose in the waters here. They fuckin' loved it here and are enjoying life in America more than the average American citizen does. They can go all over the country regardless of the weather because they can handle all types of temperatures. They don't even need that lungfish gimmick much here either, sines there's always plenty of water to go around in America. There are also all sorts of tasty fish and aquatic animals to eat here too. More than back home, to be sure. So these snakehead fish have been cruising the waterways of America, positively feasting on most any other kind of fish that they come across. And since the snakehead's natural enemies are back in Asia, they can operate very freely and they have. They have been devastating the fish populations across America by devouring everything in sight. This is totally killing the marine food chain and ultimately, marine life in waterways across the USA. Many fishermen are losing a lot of money because these things are eating all their potential catch. They are going to the politicians about it, and the politicians are leaping to action, and the American taxpayers are being asked to do the job that whatever kind of fish that eats these fuckin' things is supposed to do, and that is to keep their numbers down and get rid of as many as possible. This same story can be repeated in America about so many plants and animals, the fire ants, the kudzu vine, the Asian carp ,to name but a few. And this situation is far worse in other parts of the world, most notably Australia. Because they were geographically isolated for so long, the ecosystem there is particularly fragile and interdependent upon each other. Just the introduction of rabbits and cats there has been devastating. The rabbits are running wild and multiplying like, well, rabbits. They are eating everything that grows that they can get at, and that is a lot of the farm crop and other assorted plant life in Australia. Since their natural enemies are back in Europe, they have nothing to fear except fear itself I guess. The cats have been running loose and killing small animals for prey all across the Australian continent. Since there are many species of small animals in Australia, that means that they are killing a large number of species. They are just wiping some right out. All of this is having a devastating effect on Australia. There is not a country on Earth that does not have these sort of problems, and there is also not one of them that is seeing the problem do anything other than grow steadily worse. As it does, it threatens to become the way that mankind accomplishes what he could not do with nuclear armaments or biological agents, and that is to destroy himself.
This can happen due to the taking of all these species of plants and animals and transplanting them where they don't belong. The problems that I enumerated earlier are just the tip of the iceberg here. As all of these species are taken all over the place, they will begin to adapt to their new surroundings, to mutate, so to speak. Especially these hardy things like kudzu and the snakehead fish. So any success that happens now in controlling them will be ineffective in the future as these species adapt to them. So unless there is a total eradication of these things the first time out, they will eventually become immune to these eradication techniques, and they will multiply all over again. It is really a matter of what happens faster, the ways to control them, or the adaptation of the species. It is a race that technology, no matter how advanced it may be, cannot win. Once these species have firmly established themselves in this new environment, they are fuckin' hard as all hell to get out of there. Every time that man thinks that he has the upper hand on them, he finds out that he is mistaken. Like the fact that he now knows that fire ant shave spread all throughout the Southern and Western United States and are in the process of making their way North, as they learn how to adjust to the colder climates. This means that the ecological disaster of taking all of these things to where they don't belong is irreversible. Man' s only hope is that he can at least find a way to keep these things from totally destroying the ecosystems of their new homes. Since we are talking about plants and animals here, they do not have the knowledge or ability to know when to stop, and that is why certain species were relegated to certain places, places where there was a natural system of checks and balances that ensured that nothing overpowered everything and wrecked the ecosystem. Now that man has totally destroyed that system, no one can tell what the results may be. Man has been accelerating this process so much by taking ever more species of plants and animals to where they don't belong, that he is fucking this system up in so many different ways. When he finds a way to fix one problem, three others have popped up due to the same meddling with the ecosystem. All of this happening time after time is bound to eventually destroy the entire ecosystems of everywhere, since they are all interconnected. If man manages to totally destroy the entire food chain and ecosystems everywhere, he will ultimately destroy himself, because he is at the top of the food chain. He can wreck the earth every bit as much as he can with nuclear weapons by creating a barren wasteland where nothing lives any longer. The only difference would be that there would not be large doses of radiation emanating from
everywhere. There is no need for a catastrophic war to bring this condition on. If man keeps on destroying the ecosystems all around the earth, and, most importantly, destroys them at a are far faster than he can figure out how to repair them, he is going to destroy himself and civilization every bit as much as a massive worldwide war would. This is just a far slower way to do it, but every bit as deadly. This seems to be the way that man had chosen to bring his destruction about, for he has continued these practices of fucking up the ecosystems in times of war and peace alike, in times of prosperity and bad economic times, in times of change and stagnancy alike. He has done this since he was first able to get around the entire Earth and he continues at an accelerated pace today. This will destroy mankind faster than nuclear holocaust or biological warfare, for man can control if those things happen, but he cannot control nature, despite what he thinks, and that lack of control means that nature can go and destroy man if eh tinkers with it too much, and he has been doing that for too long now and if he does not slow it down real soon, the inevitable proicess may be set in motion that will culminate in the destruction of mankind without a war or any acts of aggression being responsible for that, but man will be every bit as extinct as if it did happen that way.
